Intergenerational programs are designed to bring together our generations in a fun and rewarding way where people can learn from each other without the boundaries of age! After reading about Intergeneration Month (link below), Youth2Seniors decided to support this movement by hosting our signature event 'Intergenerational Day' eachyear. It provides the opportunity for people of all ages within the community to work together, learn from one another and connect with each other!
The Intergeneration Month website has some great resources for people looking to build intergenerational relationships. The link below talks about their national movement to recognize Intergenerational Month in September. They also offer a unique storytelling contest that is open to everyone!
2017;s Intergenerational Day will have a new twist - it is all about volunteering! This year all activities will focus on benefiting a group in the Austin area! Join us and participate in 7 different on-the-spot volunteer projects!
GIVING: projects include: bear building, decorating placemats, making bags for the homeless, painting a bowl for Austin's hungry, write a letter to a child in Africa, support Youth2Seniors by purchasing an item in the auction.
GIVE AWAYS: Each hour we are giving away different give-aways to show our volunteers how much we appreciate their help!
SPIN THE WHEEL: After you finish volunteering - come spin the wheel for a change at even more prizes!

Each year our activities have change a little bit - but we continue to maintain the balance of having activities focused around 3 areas:
